Magenta gallery presents LIGHTLY
A duo exhibition by Sille Stenersen Egedal & Ellis Achong Karker

The sun is the star at the center of the solar system. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core, radiating the energy mainly as visible light, ultraviolet light, and infrared radiation.

The time of sunset (the daily disappearance of the sun below the horizon due to earth’s rotation) is defined in astronomy as the moment when the upper limb of the sun disappears below the horizon. Near the horizon, atmospheric refraction causes sunlight rays to be distorted to such an extent that geometrically the solar disk is already about one diameter below the horizon when a sunset is observed.

In the exhibition LIGHTLY Ellis Achong Karker and Sille Stenersen Egedal are working in different media combining embroideries, sculpture and video in the same space. They both have very distinctive styles that are coming together in a new installation.

Sille has been collaborating with the gallery since the opening and had her embroideries in the gallery shop. She is presenting her newest embroideries at the exhibition.
